Leírás: Three soldiers, probably of 5th Artillery Regiment, relax on top of a pile of rubble and make souvenirs from expended 75mm shell-cases. Using light hammers and punches they work intricate designs of whorls and spirals into the metal, showing the camera the finished result. The mission, led by Admiral Thaon di Revel, is escorted by General Foch as Chief of Staff. The party looks out over a battlefield, possibly Verdun, from an observation platform. Later, an Infantry formation led by its band marches past the party through a ruined street. The King and Queen are introduced to the pilots, including the French ace Lieutenant Nungesser. He takes each in turn for a joyride in a Breguet Type 14A2. The Queen and the King are each shown climbing into the gunner's cockpit of the aircraft. The men of the divisions are drawn up in the open. Pétain presents 1st and 201st Infantry Regiments with the "fourragère" (a decorative ribbon tied to their standards). The standards of 33rd and 233rd Infantry Regiments receive the Croix de Guerre. A number of officers get individual decorations. The men then march past while Pétain watches.
